It was Dennis who initially brought up this idea of keeping the oil level at the mid way point between the MIN and MAX mark on the dipstick. His reason was that through extensive testing it was found that the oil temperatures stayed lower at this level rather than at the MAX level. This he conjectured was due to frothing of MORE oil in the crankcase. Hopefully he will see this ongoing discussion and chime in with his expertise and set the story straight.
