you say you want a longer dipstick.

maybe I missed a post or two, but since this thread started I have been asking which dipstick system you have .. some people run the jetta dipstick on the engine block.

some convert it properly to diesel vanagon style dipstick, and there are two versions of those .. so what dipstick system please ?

maybe you have some results from the shop to report now. does not sound too good. I doubt glow plugs can foul very easily from oil.. they don't need to arc or anything like that like a spark plug does. they heat from within, and will burn off anything on them I'd think. and glow plugs are the least of your issues right now it seems.
