Yes, but the mod makes it a bit more wobble free (very wobble free in my iteration, due to the close fitting tube) and besides, its fun to make things for the van

I use it that way while camping to allow both access to those cabinets, but to double the counter-top space temporarily. Since I have an '87 I use the shorter table top so I can also get into the closet without moving the table.
