Thanks Alistair. FWIW, the actual gaskets I'm referring are these: The pic doesn't show it, but RTV was used along with the original gaskets. The original gaskets are now gonzo. I just applied the Permatex red RTV. Instructions say apply, finger tight fasteners right away, wait 1 hour, final tighten. Looking on line, instructions say wait 2 hours then final tighten. Hmmm..... Anyhow, it worked fine as a stand alone combustion box seal last time I used it.
