The 12v fan at the rear of the fridge is directly wired to the battery through a thermoswitch which is mounted on the upper RH corner of the upper heat exchanger fins on the back of the fridge. ANYTIME that switch is heated by the sun shinning on the side of your van, by the heat from the fridge fins, from a mouse camping on it or whatever, the fan WILL turn on and run until the thermoswitch cools off and shuts off the fan ! If you do not what this action then pull the 12v fuse out behind the drivers seat or install a manual switch !
>>>>>>>Neil, the refrigerator has not been on for two weeks, since we returned fro= m our trip out West. Hence my question. Seems that the van is quite hot i= nside, and the refrigerator fan has kicked on. But I did not know it would= do that (and do not remember it doing it before) unless the refrigerator w= as operating.<<<<<<<
