The article Mark wrote really helped. If you understand how to use the
tools, it's easy to set up a test. (especially if reg. adj. easy to
get at! ) Thanks for the pointer Rob.
First, I knowingly took a risk in making small adjustments to reg.
adj. screw W/O a manometer. Wrong. No biggie. Only turned it a little.
Video taped flame. Hard to tell, but didn't see any real difference in
flame size via LCD on camera. All a waste of time though footage of
flame in heating and pilot mode (poss. w/audio of "click" from
thermostat) might be of use. Anyhow...... Hauled out my manometer and
adjusted to 10.5" (5.25" increase on one side of manometer). FWIW,
since I accessed adjustment from between tank and regulator (basically
blind), it was tricky to adjust. If diaphram accidentally pushed in a
little, manometer would spike. As such, I confirmed results a few
times once screw set. I vented the 5/8" hose and made sure water in
hose at un-pressurized "zero" mark before each test.
Oddly stove flame now shows a little yellow/orange colour. Maybe I'm
getting low on LP.
Fridge still lights the same way cold; flame goes high - low - almost
out - repeat. I assume this is the intake/exhaust cycle settling in as
I hear a burbling sound from flue. (it was 9:30 PM and really quiet)
With that in mind, I really should have checked intake pipe, while
fridge was on the bench. Still. I'm pretty sure it's clear. Will test
on highway soon.
Thanks for all the help.
Neil.
