Unless the clutch is dragging or not fully releasing you most likely have
the infamous cracked 3-4 slider hub. Tranny time.

I have an 89 Westy Syncro with the 4 speeds transmission. It's crunching
going up and going down to 3rd gear.  Do I need a new 3rd gear?
