The alignment on the rack will be referenced from the wheels and hubs and will come out fine.

The van may not drive well on the worn tires but that's a different story entirely.

For what its worth I bought a set of 4 used 225/55-16 ContiTrac Touring CH95 tires from the Les Schwab on Meridian in Bellingham for $165.00 mounted, balanced and installed. That doesn't seem too expensive to me...
