yup, I noticed that in my '82 westy, but the cabinet is so useful to us I will keep it,

I don't find it as restrictive as you do.

have you mounted mirror lower? if so can you post details and pics?

or maybe you won't have that problem , but personally I don't like the restricted view when it's like that.
