You can pretty easily purchase an aftermarket glue-on mirror to dodge the AC cabinet, but that obscures a bit of your view to the fore and lowers the point of view out the back.

I toyed with the idea of doing that, but decided I preferred being able to see a bit more of the road behind me from the higher sight line.

Driver's size is also a factor in this. I'm 6, 0 ". My wife is 5', 6" and has less of a problem with the AC cab, though it's still in her field of view.
