attitude ? as in happy/angry/calm etc ? or as in inverted, tilted, etc. ?

I don't think GPS tells either.

though I was awfulling impressed with a phone that had a carpenter's level function ... and I just can not imagine how that device does that, it's fully electronic, no bubles or anything. A chip that can tell if it's level or tilted ?

The GPS weak point is elevation. Not nearly as accurate as movement over the surface of the earth.
