no problem .. sometimes I don't follow things not spelled out exactly.

the stuff looks good to me. 650 F sounds pretty 'up there' . for a reference or comparison .. redline exhaust temp in a turbo diesel engine is 1,200 F .. like aluminum pistons start melting at 1,250 F.

makes 650 sound pretty good to me. we'll see what others say.

Hi Scott.

Yup. This is about the Westfalia Dometic 182 fridge.

Product I'm referring to is Peratex High Temp Red RTV. Product page from their website:

http://tinyurl.com/23hvnjr <-- That page says product good for "-65ºF to 650ºF". But.......

The original gaskets look to be made of asbestos or something skookum, so I wasn't sure if using the Red RTV was ok.

Sorry for not being specific about which Dometic I was referring to! :)
