I use it to see how well I did parking... set it on the table, the floor,
the top by the sink &  the dash. Not perfect, not bad though...
I haven't taken my iphone apart yet so I'm not sure which of the built-in
functions it relies on... yes, it can tell orientation, and location. try
it, you might like it : )
