Well, we were there, along with the rain, but it barely seemed to dampen some spirits! There was a bunch of neat things to see. We saw what had to be two of the VW extremes - a Kubelwagen in full cammo, and a Thing in Bright Pink! The turn-over was pretty good at the Koney lot, with some volks leaving, and then returning to a new parking spot. There were three Vanagons there, including mine (required V-gon content), and mine was probably the least attractive. I gotta get some restorative body work done, soon. Also, we did the mandatory good deed, - pulled out my battery, to take over and jump-start an unrestored, all-original, '58 Beetle. Yeah, we knew about the 6 & 12 volt issue. We dealt. It's all good... My son and I pulled out about 3:00 P.M. for our part of the cruise. We putted along from Square Lake, all the way to I-696. About 8 miles total, and I gave my older son the wheel of Butternut for most of it. His first Cruise! It's enought o bring a tear to a proud dad's eye. All-in-all, a fun day despite the weather. I will leave the pictures to someone who can... ________________________________ Hope to see many VW"s There!! Tony |
