Thanks Jeff,

Putting on BOTC is my pleasure and it's a privilege to be able to give back to such a great bunch of Volks!

Ten years of BOTC has honed our skills and we seem to have the routine pretty well figured out. An adequate campfire is not sufficient for BOTC. I usually aim for something just past "conflagration" rating, but I'll go bigger if the weather has the local police chopper grounded that night. Sacrificing some furniture like a coffee table or a wicker chair just adds to the excitement.

A BIG thanks must go out to my many assistants. Year after year my Family drops everything and pitches in... Trailer loads of firewood and equipment get delivered and they are always there to lend a hand when I need it or remind me of a detail I might otherwise overlook.

Kumbaya is a great campfire song... but at BOTC we have evolved a much edgier fireside groove. "Take a walk on the wild side", might have been how it got started, but once the alt-campfire genre was unleashed upon the world there was just no putting those worms back in the can. War Pigs and Rage Against The Machine seem to work well along with Jane's Addiction and Bare Naked Ladies. If you don't believe me then you just weren't there.

Glad to hear you got home OK... My Vanagon once again decided it wanted some attention and it's thrown the ball off the shifter. Colleen got it home without major incident but it definitely made my drive to work interesting this morning.

Happy Trails,
