Hi Jeff,

I was able to fit a pair of 6x9s into the rear AC ductwork on my wolfsburg. They offer excellent sound in that location as they are never obstructed by passengers or luggage the way they would if they were placed lower. I had to shim them out a bit with plywood to get the depth I needed but I did make it work. The sound of the 6x9s was a big improvement.

Later I was able to find a 600W amp and a pair of 12" speakers on eBay for cheap. I put the 12" subwoofer in the drivers side wall of the rear cargo area. First I installed a 0.75" sheet of plywood in place of the original plastic interior panel and then I carefully recessed the speaker into it. The magnet on the back ended up clearing the body panel by about 0.25". I still need to finish the enclosure but it sounds good. I will try to get pics of these tonight. The bass is most pleasing, although it does rattle the plastic interior cupholders at times.

Happy Trails,
