RE: Best 'Awning' First, I'm well over 6 foot and find no problems with my 10 foot Fiamma. Second, and others may well have different definitions of 'awning', but a setup that takes time to set up and requires storage space somewhere inside the Vanagon does not qualify, in my mind, as an awning, two different categories of accessories. There is great merit to either type of setup, attached and stored on the outside of the Vanagon (conventional awnings) or the packages like the Kelty (mentioned and pictured earlier in this thread) or Bus Depot type setup. But the convenience and versatility of the gutter or body mounted case awnings like the Fiamma or Shady Boy, at least to me, overshadow the cheaper price of the more tent like setups. I have several friends that I camp with that bring the Ez Up type canopies and those tend to provide the most versatile setups of them all because they can be picked up and moved to wherever they are needed given the weather (short of a wind storm when they can fly!).
