You can easily put 5.25" speakers in the door if you cut the door panel a little - not the metal, just the interior panel. Since you have manual windows you can also put a larger speaker lower down in the door too - nice option to go with a component setup. There are spacers available to make your hand crank clear the speakers - get those before you rip out speakers that sound good. I believe I've seen them on thesamba classifieds, use the search. What Matt says is true about making sure the speakers have a low profile so they don't hit the dash though. Mine touch the dash and have caused some slight warping of the door panel; still worth it to me because I love my Alpine speakers. I've seen some very low profile MB Quarts that would work great for you.
