"when they paved the parking lot all night long... :-("

That's too bad Shawn...

We recently spent 3 nights at Waterfront Park in Medical Lake, Washington. It was our first time at the Blue Waters Bluegrass Festival and first time across Hwy 2 and Hwy 20.

Hwy 2 across the high plateau after the Grand Coulee (98.8 degrees F!) is absolutely amazing - it was a though we'd been transported to a different planet. Undulating fields of golden wheat out to the horizon in all directions - no distant blue mountains or anything else.

We stopped to check out an abandoned schoolhouse on a little rise - when I pointed my infrared temp gun at the asphalt it read 129 degrees. ;)
