I realize it's no longer Friday, but since you asked...

There's a silver '89 Westy here in town driven by a black guy about my age.  I've seen him three times and spoken with him two of those times and in each case he never got out of the van, leading me to judge by that inadequate sample that he spends more time in a Vanagon than any white Vanagon owner I know.
