Subject: Dental Mirror to Check Dometic Flue Seal Pic
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hi all.

Still futzing with this Dometic.

Just re installed. Occurred to me to check seal with mirror. With no screws installed, most of manifold sat flush to gasket, but forward portion seemed to have a gap. My understanding now is that even w/o screws installed, manifold should sit flush.

It seems that even with screws tightened, manifold could still be cockeyed at 9:00 or 3:00. I suspect the "give" of rubber gasket allows this. i.e. If the manifold was pushing up against metal only, this might "force" it to sit flush. Seems so obvious now. Hindsight eh?

All speculation at this point, as fridge is coming out again (now have hard lighting, backfires, small flame), but this may help the flame outs that were occurring during heavy winds.

Just thought I'd post the pic as it's not too hard to check especially if one has bent the corrugated pipes for any reason.

Neil.
