Agreed... CDs are already passe. Get a unit with USB input instead, and
buy a cheap thumb drive.
What we use the most in the van and bus here is an iPod holder/charger/FM
transciever that I bought at Canadian Tire on sale for $12. It charges my
wife's brand new iphone at the same time as it broadcasts her playlists
onto the FM radio. When Colleen isn't along for the ride I use my own iPod
nano I bought a few years ago. Right now you can get a refurbed 8GB nano
from the Apple store for just $115.
As for radio recommendations... I spent about $200 on a Sony deck a couple
years ago and I've been quite happy with it. Before that I went through a
couple of JVC units in my bus in the same price range and so far I am
finding the Sony to be much better built. Then again it may not be
suffering quite as much since the JVC's were installed in the baywindow
where they were subjected to a lot more extremes of vibration and
temperature.
