Did it fire up properly and stay lit before being removed? If so.....

Go over exactly what you did work wise.

Short story: mine would start on LP, (albeit taking several tries when
fridge "cold") It would then stay lit unless really windy etc. Then. I
took it out. Managed to "drop it" against the work bench.

The jet was out at this time.

Put it back in. Could not get it lit right! Did not make any sense.
Pulled it again. Burner had come loose. Like totally cockeyed loose.

My guess is a poor seal between manifold and rubber seal. Check all
the way 'round. A dental mirror can help. Still. Even if poor seal,
should light. You may be flooding it hence backfire. I start sparking
*as soon* as I push yellow button.
