During sudden evasive maneuvers, an inordinate amount of weight can shift to
a single tire. Just when you need it most, that tire may fail if it is not
sufficiently rated for the Vanagon.  Your tires are your last line of
defense before a potentially catastrophic accident. This is not a place to
cut corners.
