that's totally correct for 'reinforced' 205/70 R 14 tires ..30 front, 40 rear. according to tire sticker on an 86 Westy.

interestingly, on the same vehicle... for the 185 R 14 C 6 PR they say 39 front, 48 rear.

which is just about what I came up with on my 85 Westy GL ... set the new rear 8PR's to 48 with a good size load, and settled on 38 psi cold for the LT's in front , worked just perfectly that way.

my loaded weight ..two people and not-overly-packed for two nights camping, plus a core transmission on board .. was 4,750 lbs. minus the one person and her stuff, weight was 4,450 with 2550 on the front axle, and 2200 on the rear.

that's trying to load stuff toward the rear too. When I install an axu battery it will be under the rear seat, on the right, Lot of work but with all that wasted space around the transaxle .. be worth it on keeper van to build a battery box into that area ... get as much wieght aft as possible, but still within the wheelbase.
