Anybody know what? That's probably the low end of the ballpark range for a shop to do the tranny. You could have a rebuilt unit shipped to you and install it yourself for somewhat less and you can do the whole job yourself for quite a bit less if you're up to it. We just discussed some of this at length in the thread about the kid with the blog that got stuck in Idaho (in case you didn't read it). Pmail me if you like.
