I am trying to get my new coolant pipe on (thanks again Andrew!) so I can
make it to the BNNTA this weekend. I can't believe it is happening and so
close to St.Louis.
Does anybody know of a link that gives a step by step on flushing and adding
new coolant to a dry system? Do I add straight phosphate free AF or a
mixture? Also Andrew, not to pester you but you sent me an excellent step by
step write-up on how to replace that pipe but I can not locate it anywhere
here on the forum or in my email files. Did I dream that or what?
Anyway it looks like I am short one extension for my socket wrench to sneeek
past the muffler to get to that last bolt on the engine. Dang it is tight in
there. Talk about no wiggle room. How do you guys replace whole
engines/transmissions? Man you guys are gods! Must feel great to have that
out of the chassis right there in your lap to tweak/polish everything.
I gott my new tank and reseal kit from bus depot but the tank had a dent on
the bottom and smashed corners. Still waiting to hear what they say about
that. I spoke with a local shop("Wolfsburg") and they gave me a line that it
was a beast of a job and would cost a ton of labor. I am not feeling very
confident about going to them and after reading this (
http://home.earthlink.net/~mark.cumnock/westfalia/id34.html ) I think I will
try it myself. ...and no I don't smoke.
