Don't know about the tires you mention in your perfect subject line (grin) but

In my experience, Michelin LTX MS's did what your's are doing...Namely, they cracked on the sidewalls while they still some decent tread depth. Overall, the performance and durabiltity of that set of tires was not to my liking, I won't be buying any more Michelins for my van... 84 low top westie interior 14" 2wd plenty of backroad and rough road travel. "Your experiences with Michelin May Vary"

Michelin Tires...They are supposed to be Premium tires. Priced that way anyhow. They've lost their grip...(sorry)...on producing tires to match their reputation, IMHO.

A few years back, didn't they have a fiasco with F-1 tires?

I bought some of their racing slick tires a while ago, for a 'special' race where I really wanted to beat one of my braggart friends..and besides being quite expensive, the Michelins became Hockey Puck-like after two sessions of 20minutes on the track...virtually un-usable. Big waste of cash, mainly based on their "good tires" reputation.

The LTX I had on my van..they were really scary on a grated bridge deck I often must negotiate. This is a narrow long toll bridge (Hood River, Or. across the Columbia river) with lots of wide vehicles on it. My van, running on the Michelins, would dart around on that road deck very unpredictably...so much so that I began going an extra 20 miles out of my way, to use the next closest bridge without the steel decking while I had those nasty tires on my rig. Other tires do not behave like those. And, I got stuck on almost flat wet grass in my parking area with those tires....a couple of times. Ugg!
