  Until recently, I have always run Michelin tires. When in NM I had
Michelin MXT 205/70R14's. They were gone from the market when I next
needed to buy tires. At that point I got Michelin XCA's 205/75/R14's.
Good tire, but a true truck tire. Very flat tread that depended on a lot
of weight to get the best performance. But the van tracked like it was
on rails. Those sidewalls were so stiff that a flat didn't look like a
flat - just a low tire. But those very tall, very stiff sidewalls did a
good job in keeping the van steady in crosswinds and big truck
turbulence. These two sets of tires together lasted me for 10 years.
Wore the tread down before any cracks ever appeared.
