Right. And leaving aside that everything should be correctly torqued all the time, people who are used to wrenching on iron tend to pull the threads out of aluminum. A few Helicoils later I learned my lesson.

You work on these engines every day, which is a lot different from Mr. Squirrel's situation. And even yourself -- have you checked your "calibrated arm" against a torque wrench lately?
