The problem can be the sensor in the tank, the wiring/grounds/connections, the gauge, or the relay in the dash. The sensor is easiest to check. Take a paperclip and jump the two connections in the connector at the top of the coolant tank. Turn the van off and on again and see if it goes out. If so, it's the sensor. You must shut off and restart the ignition each time to test the system.
