My 89's original gas cap unlocked using the ignition key and I am living proof that a person can be distracted enough to manage to keep the key while losing the cap. I've found the replacement caps to be a real PITA- the separate key, and the fact that it's much harder to align to the filler neck than the original- I managed to lose one that evidently didn't catch properly. Last week I scored a non locking cap from an '81 at Pull-A-Part and that's the one I'll be using from now on. Y'all can rest assured that I'll be keeping the locker stashed inside the bus as a backup. <G> George/ATL |
