lol. I'll bet it's quiet though .. and for a diesel ..you need all of that you can get.

how much added weight though ? how many gallons of extra fuel got burnt pushing that extra weight ? teasing of course. ( I think our rubber is all synthetic anyway ...from petroleum mainly ...should wik-it.)

not fridae, but I am appalled at the jillions of gallons of oil out of the ground that have been dug up and burned in the atmosphere in the last 100 years .. more gallons than there are stars in the sky, seems to me. and we can only expel exhaust from fossil fuels into our air for so long . The atmosphere is probably already 30 % old exhaust already.

and a really cool thing about a vanagon or a westy, or a diesel vanagon, or a car .. is that you don't have to actually drive it a lot of miles , to get great value and reward from owning it !

Particularly a Westy or camping van of whatever sort - it's way cool, fun, and comfortable even not going !

I got one of those very cushy pads they use in front of industrial equipment as a floor mat for the operator. Eight dollars, slick on top and foamy in the middle. It made a nice rear over-the-engine cover and I extended down under the seat, across the floor and up the front of the underseat area, so it's completely lined. I got the gowesty rubber mat for the middle and the heavy duty bus depot mats for the fronts.

Many rubber trees perished for my Vanagon.

Jim

Easy to clean and a little quieter, which a diesel can always use.
