I like this story. I wonder how many more are out there.

I dumped nearly a whole tank of fuel in one quarter mile after filling up. Split fuel hose in a place where I could not cut off and refit. So, after scrounging some electrical tape, a ball point pen barrel, some copper wire I happened to have in my tool box, I managed to cobble together a splice that held until I could get to a FLAPS for a proper piece of hose.
