I just got one in from Bus Depot. But I think it is for the rear bushing (I have not been able to find a replacement for the front bushing. According to the Bentley, the 82 camper has two bushings (front and rear). My understanding is that you might be able to modify the rear bushing to fit the front - I am not looking forward to dropping the gas tank.

Thanks for the description; I always wondered how to describe the howling sound when downshifting into 2nd.

I certainly would be interested in any suggestions and tips on this job.

Thanks,

Frank '82 Westy - Daisy

You going to start building these things I think I am in the same boat as you. I got an 82 still shifts sloppy and noisy sounds like a moose mating or something when I shift..(not that I really know what that sound slike I swear)

I few people on Samba have been looking for a fix (me included) could make a few bucks on it??? :)

As for the older model bushing I believe Terry Kay on samba makes these as does Van-Cafe I believe.
