I think, with my load requirements, it's the best way for me to go. If you are so inclined, you can probably use the warranty to get replacements...Dunno, I kinda don't like that type of behavior, though manufacturers use in the other direction on consumers. NAPA batteries have a good warranty and I have used their replacement on my SO's Subaru when she had one die (or killed it ).

I snow-bird in my van, off the grid for about 2-3 months every winter and I get a couple of seasons from a battery, then just buy one new one. I don't run TVs or Reefers, but I do run lights and charge devices and sometimes get low in the house battery charge. I have a big ole relay from an RV or a camper truck that clicks loudly. I can switch off the relay and just charge the starter battery if that gets low (never has).

I could go six years the way I do it and still come out ahead of some of the Optima or other fancy RV deep cycle batteries I have seen...and no loss of storage space really. If I should ever need to start using my coach battery, I have some jumper cables. I also have a small solar panel that lives behind my drivers seat and plugs into an accessory outlet. Sunny days, I take that out and prop it up in the sun...No controller...dunno the amperage but it keeps my coach battery charged on sunny days.

Simple. That is me. Don't over think things. Don't waste precious time that you could be using for fun...Life is Short, eat desert first.
