Thanks Scott, It's not resolved yet. I moved it to the other side and it was worse. Moved it back and still not right. I have the Bentley out and I'll see what I can figure out today. We didn't touch anything in the linkage except the bracket so we shouldn't have to make any adjustments forward of that, should we? Also, I don't think it is excessively worn parts because it was working smoothly before we dropped the transmission to replace a seal. That work was done for me by a local mechanic who is very good but not a vanagon specialist. Thanks Doug E. '84 Van-Go '67 vw convertible Vert-i-go
