Scott,

that agrees with what I have seen on German sites. It might have been an option for earlier vans, but '90 -'91 models got it standard.

I didn't know about reinforced frame rails on 14" syncros, 16" syncros for sure got reinforcements here and there.

another subtle upgrade starting around there sometime,........89 or whatever............. is stronger frame rails. If you look up into those oval holes on the bottom of the frame .. their filled in ....like more metal added inside, to the beam or frame rail there, on later model syncro's.
