Golly, Alistair, look at the Grand Canyon. Almost all of it started out as different kinds of rock, weathered to sediments, deposit on a shallow seabed, then uplifted and weathered again to create the canyon. The claim isn't (or should be) that it's the most effective solvent liter for liter. It's that as solvents go, it has done the most work over time. No BS. Mark
