I kinda expected that the pilot bearing would be installed for sure .. since pilot bearings are often issues on vanagons, though Don isn't dealing with say half a dozen clutches on vanagons a year , but as is well recognized now .. it's a very important part .. and in waterboxers I consider it the weakest clutch part for sure. ... so pilot bearing thoughts and awareness are often 'right there' where you can't ignore them.

lesson learned ! is the trans or engine out yet ?
