Subject: sell or trady my 1990 Vanagon GL
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

I have a white 1990 Vanagon GL which I would like to sell or trade for an economy car.

Vanagon details:

The good: 2.1 waterboxer motor with 4spd rebuilt heads installed at Tassis about a year ago. Also installed exhaust at same time. Nice interior including jump Wolfsburg jump seats behind front seats. Have all the brackets and seatbelts to install. Have large table and two mounting brackets. Rear bench seat and rear trunk pad in very good shape. All AC installed and working, just needs to be recharged. two new front tires. has fiberglass bumpers and body kit. Interior is gray and captain seats are in great shape. Power windows and doorlocks via the alarm system I had installed

The bad: Clutch just completely burned out 3rd gear syncro shot in tranny Engine runs strong but idling rough. needs tuneup usually service spotting around some of the windows recently backed into something so there are a few crack in the rear fiberglass bumper.

There are over 300k miles on the van but the motor and tranny are not original. As I stated, the engine still runs strong and was cruising at 75-80 mph on the freeway without a problem until the clutch burned out. The transmission and clutch will need to be replaced. I could not get the cruise control to work either.

The van needs someone with time, tools and access to parts to her running good again.

I am not sure what a fair price is so I am open to offers and I am looking for an economy car so I am open to partial or full trades.

I am motivated to move the van quickly so I would like to get rid of it this by the end of this weekend. I am located in Fremont, CA and only want to deal with local people. You will have to come to my house to look at the van. It is a great candidate for a fix er upper.
