I'm pretty sure this is not the kind of answer you're interested in, but ..... I turn on my A/C.

I also just drive with all the forward dash vents set on open/fresh air, driver and psgr windows half way down (I don't like large bugz hitting the front side of the side-view mirrors and bouncing into the cabin, or onto me), and the rear side screened windows slid open about 4"-5". I agree, driving with the skylight open seems to aid circulation.

I sit on a Therma Rest Stadium Seat self inflating cushion. It seems to breathe slightly better than the vanagon seat.
