get some good synthetic spray penetrating grease from a FLAPS or hardware store.

spray lube the sliders/tracks mainly.

in general .... If it's rusty, treat it and paint it. if it moves, lube it.

even westy cabinet latches, ash tray lid pivot points , seat belt latches .. everything that moves and touches anything else needs lubrication, with a few exceptions.

you hear a squeak, ..that's the sound of molecules of material being sheered off. lube keeps the parts from actually touching and wearing.

a little bit goes so far too !
