Does the Bentley manual 'not know' ? I believe they show you how to do that in that manual. in pictures.

I believe it's not that easy to do, kinda a bit tricky even. One guy told me a VW dealer messed up his new ball joint doing the job.

might be the single hardest part to replace on a vanagon.
