Over time, the drive flange seal will wear a groove into the surface of the metal and cause leakage even with a new seal. I had one flange with a bad groove like that and was able to get a good used one from Weddle. No problems in the 3000 miles since. I did only one side, and (of course) now the other side is leaking. If I had to do it again, I would do both sides at the same time and not have to worry for many more miles.
