I didn't are anything wrong with the guy's question. If he can't afford to fix his Syncro trans, it is a perfectly logical step to install a 2wd trans temporarily. For example, if you were in Timbuktu and the only trans you can find is a 2wd, better to roll as a non-Syncro until you get to Timbukthree or wherever else.

Turning your poptop into a hardtop might be necessary for someone who, for example, tore his top off completely on a trip to the Alaskan wilderness and can't find a replacement. Weld a steel plate over the hole to shut the hole. Which should be what should be what should happen to his thread hijacking.
