Hey Scott.
Thinking about it again, I see what you mean.
Like you say, should be something to do with rings, valves etc. One
possible cause I read of was that on some 2.0's, the rings were
installed upside down. Regardless of the cause, I bet there's a VW TSB
floating around somewhere.
Who knows. My nephews Jetta consumes oil. Bought used from VW dealer.
Used "excessive" amounts of oil even though there were low KM's on it.
<shrugs> But now I've taken this thread way OT. ;)
The oil cooler on my ABA seems to be doing what it should. Seems to
run fine. :)
