You have a neighborhood bear also! Think of the pile of scat as a reminder that we share the planet with a lot of other creatures including some that are farther up the food chain than we are. We had two in the neighborhood this summer that hung around for 2 - 3 months, 1 was eventually drugged and relocated but the other wandered off on its own. No one in my family saw either of them but one climbed over my next door neighbors 6ft wood fence and then was photographed on the front porch of the house across the street.
