I have been doing this for a few years now. Started on my own camper and have since done a few for customers. I do not add another service outlet though, I use the city water service port as this is never used, not by me anyways and the same goes for all my customers who I have done this upgrade for. I mount a 4" computer fan in the back of the city water outlet which has been cut to accept the fan. I then mount a micro switch on the edge of the flap frame so when the flap is opened the fan starts. The city water outlet is directly in front of the fridge fins that need to have the heat extracted from them. This is the single most beneficial mod that can be done to improve the workings of the Dometic fridge in the Vanagon camper when used in hot climates ! While travelling in Mexico over the last few years I found that removing the flap and having the fan run steady even while driving improves the cooling of the fridge. I am now searching for an automatic vent, like a household dryer vent, that would open when the fan runs but made from stainless or aluminum. Nothing of the proper size has been located so far.
