I installed a tencentlife air type oil cooler in a 91 Syncro recently ... and his kit places the oil cooler in the right rear corner of the engine compartment, behind the right tail light.

He has kits for Syncro, 2WD with 2.1 engine, and 2WD with 1.9 engine.

Since oil hoses run all the way across the engine from left front to that right rear oil cooler location, I asked why not the left tail light area location .

The answer I got was ......1.9's have their ECU there and AC hoses sometimes.. so I think................ his kit puts the oil cooler on the right side behind theright tail light for all versions.

it appears to me the original poster talked about a water type oil cooler in one paragraph and then jumped to talking about an air type oil cooler in the next paragraph.

Darn well done oil cooler kit too ...that tencentlife one.

this confuses me. I am considering the same thing, but for my waterboxer 2.1. What do you mean by, " ... that would fit vertically on to the D-Pillar hole vacated by the WBX airbox and idle control unit."? I do know that the tencentlife cooler fits in the D-pillar, but I did not know it was in a " ...space vacated by the WBX airbox and idle control unit." Of course, with my waterboxer, those components are essential. DMc
